About Us

The Professional Firefighters of Columbia represent over 90% of the Columbia Fire Department and are the men and women you see every day on the fire trucks responding to medical emergencies, fires, technical rescues and hazardous material incidents to name a few. All of our Members are licensed, emergency medical technicians. Many have specialized, advanced training in hazardous materials operations and rescue techniques. The Fire Marshals Division is also home to many of our Members who have the responsibility of insuring fire safety codes are followed and fire incidents are properly investigated.

We maintain a constant state of readiness and respond to over 9000 incidents annually. We are very proud to serve the Citizens of Columbia and can be counted on to respond promptly and professionally anytime we are called on.
